A new study brings relief to children and their parent
This news will make our readers aware of the results of a recent study conducted by WHO in association with AIIMS
Speculations were there that the third wave might affect the children to a large extent. Such kinds of speculations created a sort of tension among the parents of the children.
A joint study by the AIIMS and WHO shows very little chance of children being affected by the third wave as the zero positivity rate among the children was high, almost comparable to adults. It is significant because zero positivity is a reflection of antibodies generated against the virus. In other words, it shows natural immunity levels present in a person.
The study even reveals that the delta variant is predominant in India at this moment, and it is necessary to speed up the vaccination process among children.
A study was conducted between March and June, where more than 4500 people participated, among which 700 were younger than 17 and 3800 over the age of 18. The test was done in different geographical locations. The zero prevalence was 55.7% in the less than 18 years age group and 63.5% in the age group above 18 years. The study found a little higher zero positivity rate among girls.

The study even reveals that the delta variant is predominant in India at this moment, and it is necessary to speed up the vaccination process among children.
