There are different ways through which we can benefit others. Sometimes when adults are not sensitive and aware to save the mother earth for our wellbeing, children have showed the way. More than the age, in some cases, it is the maturity and willingness that makes good things happen. We all are familiar with the fact that the entire earth is suffering due to Covid-19 and shortage of oxygen. The shortage of oxygen has made us realize the mistakes we committed by way of mindless deforestation.
But 9-year old Abhinab Deb from Assam's Cachar district has very well realized how necessary plants are for us. Being a nature lover, Abhinab never encouraged the felling of trees in his home and locality. The suffering of the people due to lack of oxygen during the Corona period is what made him take a bold decision.
A student of class 3, Abhinab made up his mind to start planting 1000 saplings just prior to his ninth birthday. Few of the saplings would be planted at his home and the others would be on both sides of the 2.5-kilometre road which starts from Chotojelenga and ends at Nagathal village. Deb was supported by his family members along with some local people.

Deb was invited to the office of the District Forest Officer where he was felicitated with a bouquet and a memento and was given the name "Oxygen Boy".
